Opportunities
Women's Studies offers several graduate teaching assistantships on a competitive basis to advanced students in Women's Studies. Assistantships include a tuition waiver in addition to a modest stipend. Students interested in more information on assistantships should contact Bénédicte Monicat. Research assistantships and other funding opportunities are available through faculty research activities. Additional funding opportunities are outlined below.

Women's Studies Graduate Teaching Assistantships

Applications are now being sought for Women's Studies Graduate Teaching Assistants for the 2008-2009 academic year. Graduate TAs in Women's Studies typically are responsible for teaching sections of either Women's Studies 001, "Introduction to Women's Studies," or Women's Studies 003, "Introduction to Women in the Arts and Humanities." Applications should include:

  • A one-page teaching philosophy
  • Two letters of recommendation from either faculty or students that address your teaching ability
  • A current CV
  • A current transcript
  • Copies of SRTE scores (if available)

Applications are due February 13, 2008. Please submit all materials ( including letters of recommendation ) to the Women's Studies Graduate Matters Committee, c/o Graduate Staff Assistant, Women's Studies Department, 133 Willard Building, University Park, PA 16802.  If you have questions, contact Bénédicte Monicat.
