Professional Bio

Rosemary Jolly is Weiss Chair in the Humanities and Professor of Comparative Literature, English, Bioethics, Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and African Studies. Dr. Jolly's areas of specialization include: postcolonial/decolonial literatures, theory, and criticism; the medical humanities; and narratives of trauma, resistance and resilience. She has dual specialties in sub-Saharan African literatures and intercultural ‘global health’ narratives and interventions, especially in the contexts of gendered violence and infectious disease.
